Directing Poses

Updated: Nov 24, 2020

These past month or so has been a whirlwind of learning and absorbing concepts, and every time I take my camera out I'm for sure seeing something new, something I missed before.

We were with my friend Zue on our way to a hair and makeup test with a model and decided to have an impromptu photo shoot. You see, Zue always dresses spectacularly. Whether is casual or elegant, she's always turning heads because of her unique style. It was only natural that I would want to photograph her.

We parked just a block away from our destination and the session begun! This time I focused on directing Zue to move her body in ways that created interesting angles. It was a great exercise for both. I got to understand how to communicate what I need the model to give me, and she tried to implement physically, what her mental idea of the pose was.

We decided to spend time online looking for poses that we liked and studying them.
